Liam Gallagher Faces Court Order Over Oasis Reunion Tour Earnings
Liam Gallagher may soon be compelled to reveal the full extent of his earnings from the highly successful Oasis reunion tour. A fresh court order is reportedly being sought by Liza Ghorbani, the mother of Gallagher’s 12-year-old daughter, Gemma. Ghorbani is petitioning a New York court to gain access to the singer’s financial records, including bank statements, tax returns, and credit card statements, in an effort to ascertain his current net worth. A court hearing is scheduled for later this month to address the motion.
Should Ghorbani’s request be granted, it would mark the first time the financial details of the reunited Oasis have been scrutinised publicly since the tour concluded. The “Oasis Live ’25” tour, which ran from July 4th to November 23rd of last year, is estimated to have generated a substantial sum, reportedly exceeding £350 million.
Ghorbani’s legal team is understood to be hoping that the revelation of these figures will bolster her ongoing demand for Gallagher to provide £500,000 annually for their daughter’s care. Gemma was born in 2013, following an affair that ultimately led to the dissolution of Gallagher’s marriage to Nicole Appleton. Despite their shared child, Liam Gallagher and Gemma have reportedly never met.
This latest legal move follows a lawsuit filed by Ghorbani in March of last year, in which she sought a significant increase in child support and expenses, reportedly amounting to £510,000. At the time, Gallagher publicly dismissed her claims on X, labelling her a “gold digger.” A source close to the situation told a publication in March that Ghorbani and her legal team appeared to be aiming to “cash in on Liam’s big tour earnings.”
However, Ghorbani’s stated justification for seeking increased financial support is based on Gemma’s diagnosis of autism and the subsequent changes in her needs. Prior to last year, Gallagher was believed to be contributing approximately £3,000 per month towards Gemma’s care. Court proceedings in June of last year heard that he had paid £750,000 in total since the initial settlement of the case in 2015. A subsequent legal filing in September suggested that a temporary, confidential settlement had been reached.
Renewed Push for Financial Transparency
Now, lawyers representing the US-based music journalist have reportedly filed an application for an “Order to Show Cause” with the New York Supreme Court. This application aims to compel the disclosure of all income generated from Oasis’s reunion tour. The presiding judge, Mr Jeffrey Pearlman, has been asked to consider a motion that would require both parties to answer further questions and provide additional information to aid in his decision-making process. The judge has set a date later this month for a new court hearing to address these matters.
Ghorbani’s Case and Gallagher’s Stance
Ms Ghorbani is understood to have submitted a comprehensive set of documents to the court, including 15 exhibits detailing her specific requests from Liam Gallagher’s legal team. While the precise nature of her demands remains undisclosed, the core of her argument centres on the financial needs of her daughter.
A source close to Liam Gallagher expressed that the singer has been focused on enjoying the Christmas period with his family and is not allowing the ongoing legal proceedings to unduly affect him. This source added, “He has been more than generous over the years and is standing firm with his legal team.” Representatives for Mr Gallagher have declined to comment on the matter.
The ongoing legal dispute raises significant questions about child support obligations and the transparency of celebrity earnings, particularly in the context of a highly lucrative reunion tour. The outcome of this court order could set a precedent for how such financial matters are handled in similar high-profile cases.
